SkilledTradesBC has introduced a new Employer Workforce Submission on our customer Portal for all employers of workers in Skilled Trades Certification trades to provide information about their workforce. The information gathered will be used to identify workers and employers in Skilled Trades Certification trades, help us understand more about their existing workforce and provide assistance to those who may need our support in meeting the new requirements.

Skilled Trades Certification Trades

  • Construction Electrician
  • Industrial Electrician
  • Powerline Technician
  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic
  • Gasfitter Class A&B
  • Steamfitter / Pipefitter
  • Sheet Metal Worker

If you employ workers in at least one of the Skilled Trades Certification trades above, you will need the following information to complete the Employer Workforce Submission. You can save the Employer Workforce Submission form as a draft and complete it later when all the required information is available.

  • Apprentices’ full names, SkilledTradesBC IDs, Trade
  • Journeypersons’ full names, email addresses, Certificate Number, province they were certified in, Trade. If you are also a journeyperson, please include your details.
  • Trade Qualifiers and Uncertified Experienced Workers’ Full names, SkilledTradesBC IDs, Temporary Authorization numbers, Trade
  • Sponsor names, email addresses, and phone numbers (if applicable)

STEP 1: Log into the Portal using your login credentials . If you are not yet registered for an account, click on Create an Account and select the most relevant option.

STEP 2: The Employer Workforce Submission will be presented as a pop-up box and will identify the Organization’s name. Click ‘Get Started’.

If you are the Primary Contact for multiple organizations, ensure that you complete the Employer Workforce Submission for each organization.

STEP 3: Add Apprentices

If you are an employer, you can add an apprentice to your Employer Workforce submission by clicking on 'Add Apprentice' and provide the apprentice's details using the Look Up tool.

The apprentice’s Last Name and SkilledTradesBC ID must match the information available with SkilledTradesBC.

If you are a sponsor or employer sponsor, a pre-populated list of apprentices employed within Skilled Trades by the organization will be provided. Please review the details of the apprentices to ensure that they are correct.

If needed, edit the apprentice's details by clicking on the 'Edit' option next to the Apprentice's name.

You can add more than one trade for the selected Apprentice. Click ‘Add Trade’ to select Trade for the apprentice.

You can remove an apprentice from your Employer Workforce Submission by clicking on ‘Remove’ option next to the Apprentice’s name.

Indicate if you are the Sponsor for the listed Apprentices.
If you are not the Sponsor, please provide the Sponsor details.

STEP 4: Add Journeypersons

Indicate whether you employ journeypersons in Skilled Trades Certification trades. If you are a journeyperson, you must add your details to the form as well.

Click on ‘Add Journeyperson’ and provide their details.

STEP 5: Add Trade Qualifiers/ Uncertified Experienced Workers.

Indicate whether you employ Trade Qualifiers/ Uncertified Experienced Workers in Skilled Trades Certification trades.

Click on ‘Add Tradesperson’ and provide their details using the Look Up tool. The individual’s Last Name and SkilledTradesBC ID must match the information available with SkilledTradesBC.

STEP 6: Submit your form

Click ‘Submit’ after providing all the required information.

Once the Employer Workforce Submission is submitted, it cannot be edited. If you need to make changes after submission, please contact a Skilled Trades Certification Advisor for assistance.

SAVE PROGRESS

At any time during the form, you may save your draft by clicking the Save Progress button. You can then return to complete it later.

RETRIEVE DRAFT

Retrieve the Employer Workforce Submission Draft from the 'My Organizations' tab in the navigation bar.

Select the Organization’s name.

Expand the ‘Employer Workforce Submissions’ tab to view the draft.

Click on the ‘Eye’ icon to view the Employer Workforce Submission draft.

The form can now be reviewed and edited.

Note: Once the Employer Workforce Submission is submitted, it cannot be edited. If you need to make changes after submission, please contact a Skilled Trades Certification Advisor for assistance.
